Photoshop error message, "Direct X 11 vs. 12" and “Studio vs. Game Driver”

I downloaded Photoshop and got the error message, "Your graphics processor is incompatible", "Direct X feature level 11.0 available, feature level 12.0 required." When I check the DirectX Dignostic Tool on my computer, it shows DirectX Version: DirectX 12. If my computer has DirectX 12, why doesn't Photoshop recognize it?"

In a sperate question, the NVIDIA Control Panel shows I have a “Game Ready Driver” and PS prefers a Studio driver. How important is this and how do I change it?

Microsoft has confusingly burried the Feature Level information, which is seperate from the DirectX level. Look in the Drivers section of the Display tab:

Ok, the feature level also shows 12. Now what do I do?

Heather,

Can you post a description of you computer?  Laptop? Desktop?  Can you post the name of the Graphics card and what driver is installed?  This might lead to a quicker answer.

NVIDIA says that both game and studio drivers will work with Adobe applications.
