Question

Photoshop: Export Artboard to TIFF files too large

Lately, when working within Photoshop utilzing artboards, with multiple layers the file sizes are being exported >230MB much larger than ever before. Fro this specific project, only files <100MB is accepted. This has not been an issue in the past yet dealing with more often - layers are merged, and compressed as much as is possible as client requires layered files. Smart objects shut off as feasible. But everytime I try and work around to reduce file size I am still getting at +200MB export of TIFF files. Appreciate any help you can provide!

Is there data outside of the canvas in the exported TIF?

Is there excessive photoshop.DocumentAncestors metadata?

Hi Stephen,

After reviewing the article and rawdata, it does not look like there is excessive metadata as it shows the script under Raw Data unlike the error message when exceeded. I've applied Solution #1 script to the Photoshop file but TIFF images are still exporting at large size. If there is a specific script to apply out of all the solutions I'd appreicate your reccomendation.

I realized early on about the data outside the artboards, and have cropped and/or shut off smart objects to avoid but still the same issue is presented.

OK, let's get back to basics:

* What are the pixel dimensions of an artboard that you consider to be too large in the original layered file?

* What are the canvas size pixel dimensions of the exported artboard?

* What bit depth is the exported artboard?

* What colour mode is the exported artboard?

* Are there alpha channels in the exported artboard?

* Are there layers in the exported artboard?

* Is the exported artboard TIFF uncompressed, or lossless LZW or ZIP compressed
