Photoshop file gets stuck on save then corrupts file

Question

I am having a recurring problem with photoshop when i try to save, however its completely random when this error chooses to happen.

I have had several files currupted when the file im working on gets stuck on save (99%) then photoshop being unresponsive. This as a result makes me have to force quit the app but as the file didn't save properly it corrupts the file and I loose everything. I can work on multiple files with no issue then suddenly it can happen. It's very random and seems i have no control over it.

This issue happens when saving to Mac or an External Harddrive with plenty of memory storage on both. Photoshop is updated to latest version (21.0.3) with reset preferences. And I'm on MacOS Catalina 10.15.3

Hi there,

We are sorry about the experience with Photoshop on your Mac.

Please go to the "System Preferences" of your Mac, then "Security and Privacy", then select the "Privacy" tab. Then select "Accessibility" from the list on the left and add Photoshop to the list. Also, grant permissions to Photoshop under "Full Disk Access". Once done, please restart the computer and check if it helps.

Go to the "Preferences" of Photoshop, then "Performance" and check the option for "Legacy Compositing". Once done, relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.
