Photoshop File not opening - could not complete your request - but it is a PSD

I have cut and paste a Photoshop file off my SD card into my Documents, and now when trying to open it, I get the error message: "Could not complete your request as it is not the right kind of document". The file is still 96,405kb so I belive the data is there, but I can't get it to open and recovery software says the file is empty. Any ideas how to get it working again? Thanks. 🙂

    Hi!

    Is the file saved in the .psd format? Where did you paste it--into a folder or into a document? Have you tried changing the file extension?

    Hi! Yes it's a .psd, it was pasted into a folder. What could I try changing the file extension to?

    How was the file saved onto your SD card? Was the SD card used in a camera? 

    I am concerned that you "cut and pasted" the file instead of "Saving" the file. Do you still have the SD card? If you do, Can you go back to it and right-click on the image and "Save-As" and save the file on to your computer?

    @E30794081eg53 if the recovery software says the file is empty I'd imagine the file got corrupt somehow, unless you have a backup you may be at of luck.
