Photoshop files deleting when I click on them in Home

Hi, I'm having a problem with my saved documents in Photoshop. Basically, after my computer has been restarted, adobe photoshop will delete the first 2 files I click on in Home. It's really frustrating and I've tried searching for them and found them in my trash file. How can I fix this?

The Home Screen displays shortcuts to the files. The only time they "disappear" for me when I click on them is when I have previously deleted or renamed them.

For testing purposes, can you?

  • Open your Trash and look at the files that are already there
  • Run PS and Finder (showing Trash) side by side
  • Click on a shortcut in the Home Screen
  • Tell us if this directly causes the file to go to Trash or if it is already there?

If it causes it to go to trash, a video will help. If you don't have other software for screen recording, follow these steps from Apple:
