Photoshop for iPad is importing everything as a smart object, How to turn this off?

Hi Everyone,

My first post. I have had a look but can't find anything that helps me.

For months, importing files and photos into PS for iPad has been fine, importing as layers no issue.

all of a sudden it's importing everything as a smart object, creating a blank linked layer and causing me no end of frustration.

I don't use smart objects as i have no need to so this is really annoying.

Can anyone advise on how to stop this happening? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi @PinkOctopus21 I see you don't have any replies yet, sorry about that! I don't have Photoshop for iPad, but in Photoshop, there is a setting in Preferences on the General tab: Always Create Smart Objects when Placing. Look in your Preferences for the same and make sure the box is not checked.
