Hello,

When I edit in Photoshop an image I first editied in lightroom after editing is photshop is complete I try to save to send back to lightroom and photoshop freezes at 97% save. It will not let me do anything at that point, all i get is it will once saving is complete which it never is. This is on an iMac running the latest version as well as all lightroom classic and photoshop updates complete. the only way to then get out of Photoshop is to force shut down the computer which looses the edited image.  These are large files for a Nikon D850 and I have changed the preferances to edit large files. i have tried to just edit in photoshop then without editing saving to send back with the same result. Any ideas? Thanks ~~ Yale

Photoshop version 21.0.3 and lightroom 9.1 classic

Try this.

Send an image to PS, immediately, before you do anythiing else, before you do any edits press Ctrl + s to Save the image (Command + s on a Mac).

Does the image save to the format you have selected in the LR Classic preferences in the External Editing section, PSD or TIF, and not hang? And does it shows up back in LR Classic?

Thank You for the reply!

Yes it does save that way. If I just simply creat one layer and no edits it will not save back. One other thing I noticed last night is that with my D500 files I can edit and they go back fine, the issue seems to be with my D850 files wich are much larger. I do have it set to edit large format files. Could the file be to big once I create layers on the d850? Thank You!
