Photoshop freezes when transferring image from Camera Raw to Photoshop

How can i fix Photoshop and Camera Raw so that when I have finished editing an 8 bit photo in Camera Raw I can transfer the file to Photoshop without the Photoshop program freezing. Photoshop works fine but I like the better editing in Camera Raw. The problem exists no mater if I open  a raw file or if I use the plug in from filters. I have downloaded Photoshop 2019 twice now. The version of the plug in is 10.0.0.827 Please help? Thanks Gayle Moffatt
