Question

Photoshop has become highly unstable

Hello,

Ever since the last 2 or 3 updates Photoshop has become highly unstable, slowing its performance to sometimes become unusable. For example: applying simple changes (like changing the color for a small text) takes forever. It now crashes in a similar way than Illustrtor usually does. This was not happening a month ago.

I have uninstalled it and installed it again 2 times and the results are the same. Even on different computers.

Please perform a performance upgrade urgently.

Hi @ariell56714774 ,

Sorry you are seeing crashes. You have selected Mac and Windows in the OS tag, which OS are you on? Do you have any screenshots of what you were doing when the crash happened?
I'm not seeing any submitted crash reports from you in our system. If you haven't done so already, please submit all Crash Reports along with your email address: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html That will help us diagnose the crash.

Thank you,

Please try the following:

  • Go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Multithreaded Compositing - and restart Photoshop. Does the problem persist?
  • Go to Preferences > Performance... click Advanced Settings... and uncheck "GPU Compositing" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?
  • Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?
  • Go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Use Graphics Processor. Restart Photoshop. Does the problem persist?
