Photoshop History

Maybe this has been asked before, but I can't find it... Is there a way to not only go back into your history, but to see the parameters used in anything I may have done? Say I used a Gausian blur 20 steps ago, but now I can't remember what the blur setting was. Is there a way to recover that bit of information?

If you applied Gaussian blur destructively, then the answer is no — you won't see it in History.

What you want to to instead is make a Smart Object of the layer before you apply any filter. You can do this multiple ways, including from the Layers panel and from the Filter menu. The filter is then editable by double-clicking it in the Layers panel. Not only can you see the settings, you can edit them.

EDIT:

If you only applied Gaussian blur once and did not apply other filters during those 20 steps, you can see your settings again.

Hold down the Option key and go to the Filter menu, then click the first command. This will open the dialog for the last filter that was used. Without the Option key, the menu command will reapply the filter without the dialog.
