Photoshop image sequence doesn't show alpha

I'm trying to import an image sequence so that I can clean up some unwanted areas frame by frame.  The images can be a sequence of PSD files or .tga files.  All of the files have correct alpha channel when opened individually.  However, when I open them in Photoshop 2019 as a video image sequence, photoshop seems to drop the alpha and channels only shows RGB.  Choosing Layer->Video Layers->Interpret footage only shows Ignore selected and disabled.

Any suggestions as to how I can open my image sequence and preserve the alpha for editing?

Was there ever an answer to this?  Four years later, same issue.  File absolutely has an alpha, but the alpha options are greyed out in the interpret footage dialogue.

I don't seem to have a problem in Photoshop 2022. (I tried exporting a quick sequence I had from After Effects with an alpha channel and then opened that and Photoshop and could use the Alpha Channel option under Layer > Video Layers > Interpret Footage. This file in question was exported as an AVI.)

Maybe the file in question wasn't exported with the alpha channel properly?
