Photoshop, InDesign and XD freeze on new Mac 16inch

I can open Photoshop InDesign and XD from Creative Cloud. But as soon as a I try to open a file, or create a new file they become unresponsive and I have to force quit.  I'm not sure how to resolve this issue.
