Photoshop is crippling my 2019 Macbook Pro with 8GB Ramm

Photoshop has become totally impossible to us on my 2019 MBP, 250GB SSD, 8GB Ramm..

I'm writing this after trying to open a file now for 1 hour. I've free up hard drive space~(35gb free). I'm using an SSD 500GB as the scratch disk but PS is just killing my machine.

Opening large files is impossible, doing anything is become impossible. Photoshop eats my memory down to almost zero the moment I open it.

When in photoshop, just click command-T and doing nothing else will give me a beach ball for 10 minutes.

This machine should not be this slow, can anyone please help?

You may be stuck, those machines do not have upgradable RAM and you need more scratch disk space.

I agree. While 8GB RAM isn't a lot, it should work, provided you have enough scratch disk space. But you don't.

You would improve the performance if you upgraded your RAM and 35GB of free hard disk space is inadequate.
