Photoshop keeps freezing

My photoshop CC 2017 keeps freezing after I've chosen "Quick Selection Tool", clicked on Select --> Select and mask. And when I click on the photo the whole programs stops working. I have to quit the app and open it again. I've tried to turn my computer on and off and reinstalled the program, but nothing helps. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Try resetting your Preferences which you can do under the General tab in Photoshop Preferences.

If that doesn't work try unticking Use Graphics Processor under the Performance tab.
