PHOTOSHOP LAGS AND IS SLOW

I am SO FREAKING FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW

I have two days left til the end of my assignment and I'm rushing like crazy now but Photoshop just doesn't want to cooporate. Haven't been working well since 2 nights ago and it's still like this. IT IS SO SLOW?! I DON'T HAVE THE TIME FOR THIS. I followed everything they provided in the solution list and it doesn't help!!???? You can't tell me to add RAM right now because who have the time for that now right? I need to talk to the customer office directly but then I can't seem to contact or chat with them at all. I have no idea is it because of COVID-19 but this is so frustrating, the chat thingy kept telling me to reach out to my administrator or IT contact for help but HOW DO I REACH OUT TO THEM? It's 7AM right now I have been working on this since 4. I Don't have time left so how do I just make Photoshop work? I am never ever going to use Photoshop or purchase it after my school license end, it keeps bugging me and have been giving me endless problem since the start of me using it. I am so frustrated someone please help!!!!!

      Which exact version of Photoshop are you using and what is your operating system?

       

      Does the app freezes while performing a specific task? Are you getting any error message? Would you mind sharing the system report from the Help> System info menu in Photoshop?

      Hi!

      Thanks for getting back at me. I received a few error messages yesterday, but I'll assume it's due to the size of my file. It freezes sometimes while I'm working but after freezing it'll get back to operation smoothly and with no problem. But these few days it doesn't really freeze but it lags like crazy all the time, which makes it impossible to do work. Not to mention it's suddenly taking forever to save and load a file 😕😕

      A few things at play here.

      1. You have two GPUs. Running multiple GPUs with conflicting drivers is a known problem for Photoshop. See section 7 & 8 here:

      2. You ask not to mention RAM by 8 MB is very small if you are handling large files. The result will be lots of data swapping between file and disk which does slow down processing.

      What size images, in pixels, are you using and roughly how many layers.

      3. You can speed up saving and loading of PSD and PSB files by disabling file compression in Preferences file handling. This gives a larger file on disk, but does not need to be compressed and decompressed so it opens faster.

      4. Your C. Drive which you are using as system and scratch has 105 GB free. If you are handling very large files then the scratch disk files will also be large and you could be running short of space for the operating system. Try swapping the order of disks in Preferences to make the none system disk the first scratch disk and see if it makes a difference.
