Photoshop latest version and it has been working extremely slow

Dear community,

We recently switched to the Photoshop latest version and it has been working extremely slow, making it almost impossible to work.

Per online FAQs and solutions, I've already tried to uninstall and reinstall everything. Also, I changed settings (gpu acceleration, cache, etc) but nothing solves this issue here.

My setup is: MacBookair 2017 – 1.8GHz Dual core intel core i5, 8gb ram, Photoshop 24.1.0

I do have issues with Premiere, After Effects & Illustrator is also lagging.

I've had the same issue for a few weeks now. After using Photoshop, Illustrator or After Effects for a few minutes it starts lagging and becomes unusable. Freezes the whole system.

@Scott Readman what does your Photoshop Help Menu>GPU Compatibility show? Your Mac shows it has two graphics cards - a UHD Graphics 630 and the Radeon Pro 5600. The UHD is way underpowered and could be dragging you down.

Here's my GPU compatibility. I'm told it should work really well with what I have and it did for over 2 years, until about 2 weeks ago. Its always frustrating when I'm told 'something' is below par or underpowered when I've already said the issue is new. I have 200GB HD space and 110GB scratch disk space.

As I said this is happening with After Effects as well.

Go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details here.

Depending on your specific MacBook build, as @sishamIAGD mentioned you may not meet minimum requirements.

Specifically- your Intel HD 6000 graphics card is well below the minimum speed for running current applications.

For Photoshop the minimum is 2,000 Ops/Sec and the MacBookAir (2017) Intel HD 6000 comes in at 548.

The other issue is you have 8 GB RAM (total) which means you have less than that as available RAM which again, is well below the minimum requirements for any application.

You will have extreme lag running processes requiring GPU with this setup.
