Photoshop Layers

Ive been working on a simple project, and have saved my work only to come back to it and all layers are merged into one image. I cannot select the "text" or edit the image in anyway. All layers have disappeared. Is there anyway to fix this or do I have to start over?

Did you save a layered version of your document like PSD or just flat files like Jpeg, PNG.   If its a PSD and you lost your layers do you use any Action or script that may have flattened it? You can only get your  layer back if they  are still available in Photoshop history.  If you closed the document your history is gone.  Only old backups files will have layers.
