Question

Photoshop loading wrong colors

I am using photoshop on a windows computer and suddenly the colors are all wrong when I open photos. I am trying to open a colored shirt blank to add a design to but the color is wrong in photoshop. When I open a black shirt it will be green in photoshop. I've tried different files and different colors and it's always the same. The preview of the file in photoshop's home page will be the correct color and when I export the file as a PNG the color will be correct. Any help would be fantastic!

I've not changed any settings so I'm not sure what would make it do that.

It sounds like a broken monitor profile. If you're not using a calibrator, you'll get manufacturer profiles distributed through Windows Update. Some monitor/laptop manufacturers can't seem to get this right, and these profiles are often defective in various ways.

As a temporary fix until you get a calibrator, replace your current monitor profile with sRGB IEC61966-2.1. Search "color management" in Windows and change the profile here:

Important - relaunch Photoshop when done, it loads the profile at startup.

If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).
