Question

Photoshop locks the windows

As soon as I open Photoshop to work with, it makes the windows lock in a minute.

I unlock the windows, and the same things happen again and again.

When photoshop is closed, the windows act normally.

I have the exact same behaviour. When it doesn't happen as Photoshop launches for me, but when using Photoshop. When I use the application, the PC will lock windows - as in spontaneously go to the lock screen whilst I'm working in Photoshop. I will type ind my password to unlock PC, and shortly after (within minutes) the machine will lock again.

This has happened on multiple occasions and the behaviour goes away when I close down Photoshop. Super weird and pretty annoying.

@Ami Zolf

As I understand it, as soon as you launch Photoshop, you are logged out of your user account in Windows and have to log back in back in. Is that correct?

If so:

  • Does it happen with other applications?
  • Have you done a malware/virus check? You can get a free trial of most malware checkers, such as Malwarebytes.

If not, please clarify.

That is correct; as long as Photoshop is open, windows log me off in a minute.

It started as I installed and launched Photoshop yesterday, and I didn't experience this before with any other app.

Also, it is the company's laptop and I have an Enterprise Microsoft Defender on it.

Here is a general picture found on a web page.

However, I guess there is a bug or something that makes the screen black for some moments and then signs me out of my windows account.

I mean the "windows lock screen."

Usually, the lock screen should be activated after 30 min of an inactive session.

But as soon as I open photoshop, it signs me out of the windows, and I have to put my windows password to log in again.
