Photoshop nor Illustrator 2024 Color Picker will not sample outside of Active Document.
We use to be able to select eye dropper and hold option key while dragging off the acitve document, to select a color from anywhere.  Now when dragging the eye dropper off the document, it just shifts your window view and does not allow you to use off document color picker.  This is very frustrating!

Does anyone have a fix?   Thanks!

What version of macOS are you using?

If you go to Apple>System Settings>Security & Privacy>Privacy>Screen Recording is Adobe Photoshop 2024.app listed and checked?

Option is for sampling background color, click-drag lets you sample foreground. Do you have permissions enabled for Photoshop to record the screen? This is required for full screen sampling to work. System Settings->Privacy and Security->Screen and System Audio Recording.

Overscroll is also involved, Photoshop Settings->Tools. Try toggling that on and off to see how it affects the window.

THANK YOU!!   That worked!  For close to two years this has not worked. The active document still wants to move around as the eyedropper goes off the document workspace, but I can live with that to be able to grab colors now from anywhere.
FYI:  macOS 14.6.1   /   PS 25.11

Thanks again everyone!
