Question

Photoshop Not Displaying Layers (Ticked/Unticked)

Can anyone explain to me why Photoshop in particular is still having these kind of issues? I've reinstalled Creative Cloud. And this is the 2021 update of Photoshop.

I'm running a MacBook Pro MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) with macOS Catalina version 10.15.7

If possible, please share a screen capture showing the issue as this will enable others to assist.

Thank you.

Hey Joseph... there is a screen capture attached – showing the problem when it happend – it doesn't allow me to do much else (thankfully I could save the work when I closed the app)

»Can anyone explain to me why Photoshop in particular is still having these kind of issues?«

Do you expect any meaningful answers to such a question?

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

I have done this process previously, and didn't have any issues until this morning when I was trying to mess with this file. I managed to save the work which is a HUGE step from the last glitch which wouldn't give me any dialogs at all.

I'm not even sure why it happens – it's completely unsolicited. I opened my MacBook this morning to keep editing, and that (the screen recording) is how the file was behaving.

Did you turn off GPU-support and restore Preferences yet?
