Photoshop not recognizing pen pressure

I have an oldish tablet - Wacom Intuos 4, from about 2010 I think. I'm using Photoshop 2020, and I have a MacBook pro from 2017. I just took my tablet out to try using it again in Photoshop, and I'm able to use it except for the pressure sensitivity. In brush settings when I select pen pressure under size jitter, I get the little triangle with exclamation point, saying "control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet." When I open system preferences and go to Wacom settings, it does register my pen pressure. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, restarting Photoshop, restarting computer, even replacing the pen nib...nothing is making it work. I tried it in Gimp and the pressure DOES work there so it's related to photoshop somehow. Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. Macbook pro 2017. Working on a  Wacom intuos 5, don't know the year - probably around 2010. Just updated to the latest version of Photoshop yesterday. Updated my Wacom-driver yesterday. Changed my pen tip today. Switched between the different USB-c ports.

My friend uses an almost similar tablet. We tried her tablet to my photoshop. Pen pressure did't work. We tried my tablet to her photoshop. Pen pressure worked. So it's not my tablet. 

As you can see on the picture, i get the warning-triangle next to pen pressure (pennetryk = danish)

What could it be?

With my older Wacom tablet, I had to try one step back, two steps back, I ended up finding a 2015 driver that worked for me. You may have to experiment with this

Try a different driver version. Wacom often has multiple drivers that work with a tablet.

    Thanks for your response. How do I know which driver to try? Just any older version? Also, I just updated my post to reflect this, but I did just try using the pen with the Gimp app and it did respond to the pressure sensitivity.
