Photoshop not saving anything but files?

I recently downloaded the basic creative cloud (light room and Photoshop) and everything else is working normally accept I realized that Photoshop won't save any of my settings or presets. I renamed brushes only to reopen Photoshop and see that they went to their original name, I make document size presets only to find them deleted and I try and add plugins but they never show up.
