Photoshop Object Selection Tool Still Not Working After Update

I just downloaded the latest Photoshop update hoping it would fix my object selection tool. It still won't work at all. Anytime I try to select an object, I get the "Object is too small" message. This happens even on objects that were selected just fin pre-update. I work in social media marketing, so this is really impacting my ability to operate effectively.

I have a Latitude E5440. Any idea why this is still happening?

Hi @PlasticHabits,

Tried to recreate your problem by choosing a pixel or two and it works.

Try @Kevin Stohlmeyer's suggestion of resetting your prefs.

If that does not work please share a screenshot of your image.

Let us know how you get along

So I tried resetting the preferences, and resetting the tool. Still
nothing.

Here is the image I am working with. I work for a company that makes D&D
content, and I'm just trying to select these boxes. The last iteration had
no problem whatsoever, but this new version just won't do it.

Have you tried resetting your preferences? Other similar posts have resolved this by going to Photoshop preferences/General and clicking the reset preferences upon quit and relaunching PS.
