Photoshop on Windows Artifacts on image and reduced performance

Ive been experiencing artifacts upon images and the subjects that im working on, it appears when I zoom in/out, and ive been noticing a significant amount of reduced performance, like lag or sometimes photoshop just freezes up for short amount of time. 

 

I have a pretty high end machine, and ive never faced this issue until now. Ive updated photoshop to the latest version and the issue still appers. Below are an example of the artifacts that ive been seeing almost everytime.

Thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble with Photoshop. We are here to help.

Does the lag happen with any specific set of files? Could you please share the system info of Photoshop from Help > System info > Share with us? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? 

 

  • Go to Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings and uncheck the 'GPU compositing' option.
  • You can also optimize Camera Raw, which handles Raw images in Photoshop, by going to Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw > Performance > Uncheck Graphics processor and increasing the cache sizes
  • Restart Photoshop.
  • If disabling GPU compositing does not help, you can uncheck the  'Use Graphics Processor' and restart Photoshop.

    Hi sameer, thank you for responding to my issue, I have done everything youve directed me to do, which in return gives me little to no artifacts, but there are still some such as for example when reducing the brush tool size, and that without the gpu it feels much more, slower and things look very different which has been quite difficult for me to familiarize with. hopefully we can find a solution in which i still get to use my gpu, not the biggest fan of this mode unfortunately
