Photoshop pen tool glitch

Every time I try to use my pen tool to make a path, the path itself flickers and glitches out. I am unable to then delete the path. Photoshop has also been crashing on me upon every use. Is anybody else experiencing any issues?

Could you please post a screenshot taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Paths, Options Bar, …) visible?

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:
