Photoshop program keeps shutting down after update. Also takes forever for the program to load.

I installed the recent update. Since that time, whenever I open the program, it takes forever to load. When I open an image to work on, the program just shuts down. So frustrating. When I look at the adobe log, it says Adobe is consuming 70% of system memory. That is just ridiculous.
