Guys!  Please help me!

I use Photoshop and lightroom CC since the beggining.

Couple days ago, I installed the latest version of Lightroom CC and photoshop CC on both of my computers (PC and Mac).

Then my problem starded on both computers.

Here is what happen:

1- I open my pictures on lightroom

2- I work on the picture (raw) in lightroom (change color temperature, etc.)

3- Then I export the raw in photoshop with the keyboard shortcut

4- The image appears exactly in photoshop as it appears in lightroom

5- I work on the picture in photoshop

6- I save the picture back in lightroom (using CTRL + S)

7- BOOM, the picture appears darker in lightroom.  Same thing if I saved the picture in JPEG from photoshop, the JPEG will also appears darker.

What the Heck?????  This problem occured on both computer (PC and MAC) at the same time...  when I loaded the new PS and LR version.

I tried everything with my color profile in PS and LR.  I put everything in sRGB and Embedded and stuff...

Man...  Help me plz!

    Correct answer D Fosse

There's a new layer compositing engine in Photoshop that has caused problems for some people.

Go into Photoshop Preferences > Performance, and check "Legacy Compositing".

Then try the same procedure on a new file. Hopefully it should now work as expected. If it does, just leave that option checked.

    Here is the pictures !

    Hi,

I did put my display color profile to sRGB.

For the color management in PS, I put it to North America General Purpose.

Here is what is happening step by step:

1- I open lightroom and choose a picture and press CMD+E

2- Then PS is opening the picture with the same color, brightness, gamma,

    etc

3- I do the changes I need to do to the picture and press  CMD+S (In other

to save the PSD in lightroom, next to the original raw file) (the picture

below show what it looks like in PS)

4- Back in Lr, here's the PSD I just saved:  (it's darker)

    So that's the problem.

This problem occurs right after I did lunch the installation of the latest

version of Ps and Lr.  It's the same problem that started at the same time,

on both computer, my PC and my Mac.

Here is both pictures side to side (Left=in Ps and right=the PSD saved in Lr)

///// Please note that I found something to do in photoshop.

1- If I take each picture separatly and clic ''Edit'', then ''convert profile'' and ''OK''.

2- First I loose all my layers on the picture in photoshop

3- But if from this point I save the picture (with CTRL+S) to lightroom, the color and brithness of the image will almost be the same, just a tiny bit lighter.  Also I loose the depth I want in the picture.  It's king of not an option to do either...  But if it can help you find the problem.

    Thanks for your help.

I see you have visibilty turned off for one layer group in Photoshop, could that be causing the problem?

It has no link to the problem sadly.

    Thanks though

Don't do that, it's not where the problem is. Changing anything in PS color settings, without knowing exactly what you're doing,  will very likely just break something. Return everything to defaults, which you do by choosing the "North America General Purpose" preset.

Can you show side by side screenshots?

I tryed the color management in sRGB and nothing is changing

It appears you didn't understand that. To rule out a defective monitor profile - not document profile! - you change the default profile in the operating system, from the current profile, to sRGB IEC61966-2.1. On Windows it's here:

Relaunch Photoshop when done, it needs to load the profile at application startup.

    Hi Joellle,

Sorry to hear that, as the image looks darker in Lightroom, could you please let us know is the brightness correct when you re-open the image in Photoshop?

The issue might be related to color management, could you try changing the monitor color profile to sRGB and let us know if it helps?

    Regards,
    Sahil

    Hi, Sahil

Yes when I re-open the photo in PS the color is alright...

I tryed the color management in sRGB and nothing is changing. My photo

    still saves darker.
