Photoshop quick export saves in wrong folder

Hey guys,

I work with a MacBook
I have set a short key for the quick JPEG export. This has always worked well. However, since today photoshop no longer saves the exported images in the last used folder, instead it always wants to save them in documents.

I have tried:
change the short key
change the export settings
quit photoshop
restart PC

I don't know what the problem could be and I urgently ask for help. The quick export is extremely helpful for my work.

Thanks in advance guys!

Hey, @.Norman360858023b2y. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share the screenshots & system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Has this started to happen since you've updated Photoshop to v25.12? Are you using an action, or assigned keyboard shortcut?

Does it work as expected when you use the button from File > Export > Quick Export?

Go to Photoshop > Settings > Export > Set the Quick Export Location to 'Export file to an assets folder next to the current document'.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hello Sameer,

I have ‘solved’ the problem.
I simply created a new folder and set it as the location for saving
Now I can use my short key again without any problems.

But thank you very much for your quick message!

Best
Norman
