Question

Photoshop running perfectly for years - this morning it won't even open

Hi - I have an older version of Photoshop (CS4) that I use on my MacBook Pro running Mojave. I've been running it for years and it has never had any problems. I use it almost daily. I tried to open it from the dock this morning, and the icon bounced once and then quit. I got the "Photoshop quit unexpectedly" window. I tried launching from Launchpad and from the app within the Applications folder. No love. Same actions, same message.

I have changed literally nothing on my MBP from yesterday to today. I hope someone can help me.

Try resetting your preferences. Try starting Photoshop immediately press and hold Shift+CMD+Option You should then get a dialog that ask if you want to delete your preferences. Reply yes delete them Photoshop should then open.

I started Photoshop and immediately held down Shift+CMD+Option just as it made its first bounce on the dock.  Photoshop quit without starting just as before, and I got the "quit unexpectedly" window again.
