Photoshop save as vs Save as copy

Is it only me or are there others in a twist about Adobe change to the Photoshop save as vs Save as copy?

I am a user since Photoshop 1.1 and this new change has me peeved.

I never complained when they changed/inversed the scale proportion keyboard shortcuts but this is ridiculous!

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Hi

As of 22.4.1, you can find png, jpg, pdf, etc., in Save a Copy. This was forced by a change in macOS, and yes others were "in a twist". I think I saw 730+ responses in a merged thread.

Adobe listened. As of 22.4.2 you can now revert to the previous behavior in Preferences > File Handling > File Saving Options:

  • Enable Legacy Save As
  • Do not append Copy
