Hi. Im having a problem of saving Jpeg. My psd file is 600mb, A4 size. Im using CC, MacOS Mojave.  My jepg file size is more than 200mb. Any recommendations how to save it lower file size aside from "Save As" and "Export"?

Thanks.

Sounds like ancestor metadata bloat!

Use one of the cures listed on by prepression blog previously linked.

Thanks Stephen,

I tried to create a new file with the same size and resolution and drag all the layers from the old file. The size reduced to 319.5mb. And now the Jpeg size is 619kb only. I remember doing this when my friend told me but that time was in adobe illustration - this is to reduced the file size.

What is the doc width+height in pixels, Color mode and bit depth? If you use file > file info > raw data and search for the keyword "ancestor" are there any hits?

Hi Stephen,

My pixel size is 827px X 1169px in RGB with 8bit. I tried this "File > file info > raw data and search for the keyword "ancestor", the window suddenly close. Before I type, the box has text says "Cannot display raw metadata, contents too large".

Without any info on the actual document settings and its content nobody can tell you much or give specific advise. For a CMYK document at insane DPI values with embedded profiles and whatnot even 200 MB in a JPEG can be perfectly normal.

Hi Mylenium,

My pixel size is 827px X 1169px or (8.27in x 11.69in) with 100 res, RGB. I have 3 smart object inside with 772x 390px or 7.72 x 3.9inches with 100 res. each. My total psd file is 632.9mb to be exact and Im using 8bit only. When I Save As Jpeg with Quality of 7 and Baseline (standard) in Format options, the output is 248.7mb.
