Photoshop saving problem 2023 - 25.3.1 (Windows 10-64 bit)

I have a problem with the following scenario,

I have a file with more than one layer and  want to save it:

1. When I choose "Save a copy" and choose tiff format, I can choose "Discard layers and save a copy", and save my file as a single layer tiff file.

2. When I choose "Save As" then from there, pass to "Save a copy", then "Discard layers and save a copy" is grayed out.  I can't chose it and save my file as a single layer tiff file.

I think this is a bug and not about legacy save option. And since I get used to use "save as," from the previous versions of Photoshop, a fix would help a lot.

Kind Regards,

Korkut

Maybe I couldn't express it well.

When I use Save a Copy, there is no problem. Everything goes as expected.

But when I click "save as", then click "save a copy" on the dialog that comes, "Discard Layers and Save a Copy" is grayed out. If I then click save, the file is saved as  multilayered tiff file, which I don't want.

@Korkut32863149beub there is one other option available under Preferences/File Handling that may be worth a verification:

See if that is somehow unchecked.

I'm not experiencing the same behavior with or without the new Save As Copy functionality.

The only way I can acheive the grayed out layer options is when I am trying to save a single layer file as a tif - then the option is grayed out because it does not apply in that situation.

You could try a preference reset to see if it resolves.

If it was already flattened, then why would I need to choose "Discard
layers and save a copy"?

@Korkut32863149beub does the file you are "Save As" have multiple layers or was it already flattend with the "Save a Copy" command?
