Hi,

I'm having a problem setting up my new ssd external drive as a photoshop scratch disk on my mac. If anyone might be able to help it would be greatly appreciated.

I just purchased a new ssd and want to set it up as a scatch disk, but when I try to, photoshop doesn't seem to recognise it. It is ExFAT format. I read in a forum that it might need to be formatted for mac. If this is the case, could someone please explain how to do this.

Many thanks.

exFAT doesn't work well in newer MacOS versions. Reformat to APFS (note this will wipe everything on the drive).

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
