Photoshop silently deleted a psd file

Hello, I just opened a .psd file, I tried to edit some text then I've got an error like "impossible to complete the operation due to photoshop virtual memory full".

I just closed the .psd file in photoshop, and now the file disappeared from the directory. Is there a temp directory I can check to recover it? It's unbelievable...

It's unbelievable...

And therefore it seems hard to believe your description of the process leading up to the issue is complete.

Could you have left out some relevant part?

Have you done a search of all your volumes to check if the file may have been moved?

Was it situated locally or on a network volume?

Nop the only operations I made are the ones I mentioned.

The psd is located in an external SSD.

The psd is located in an external SSD.

So were you able to find it again?

As for

"impossible to complete the operation due to photoshop virtual memory full"

you may want to run the gamut of basic trouble-shooting and performance-related steps.
