Photoshop slow response issues

I'm using Adobe Photoshop on an iPad Pro 12.9in 1TB 4th Generation, with the latest system update.  When I use any brushes there is a very apparent lag.  I'll draw a line but it doesn't complete until a few seconds after I lift the pencil.  Also when using the paint bucket tool the progress bar always stops at 20%.  All of this happens regardless of how large or small the project is.  Although when I use Fresco non of the issues listed above occur.  I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you all.
