Question

Photoshop stuttering when using paths

I've recently upgraded to two Windows 10 devices- a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X1 and a Dell Precision 7250 with a Cintiq 22HD attached. On both of these devices I've noticed the pen tool stuttering and freezing whenever I'm drawing on the Yoga's screen or on the Cintiq. I'll attempt to make a new path or move points or manipulate the spline, Photoshop will freeze for 10-15 seconds, and then unfreeze. This happens so often on both devices that it's nearly impossible to get work done. Any thought on what's causing this or how I can fix it? Thanks!

Hi emilyks1224,

Since both the computers have the problem of Wacom tablet freezing with Photoshop, there could be issues with the way they are setup.

Please refer this article Tablet support for Photoshop on Windows 8 where we've described the way a tablet should be setup for best compatibility with Photoshop.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Akash
