Question

Photoshop taking a lot of time to load

Hey guys,

We have Photoshop facing a big issue, it's taking forever to load for some retouchers, I found something about the presets being so big that it takes long time for Photoshop to load them, but even after  presets are deleted or moved to a backup folder, it still takes a lot of time to load, we have to basically delete the user's profile from the computer and re-create it so the user can start working with Photoshop again.

Location of files deleted: ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC <year> Settings

What can we do about this?

Thanks.

We have multiple versions, but the most commonly used are 2018 and 2019 running on macOS 10.13.6 HighSierra

Okay. As you mentioned, you were able to get the application working by creating a new user profile for the user, right? Does the application work properly without any lag in the new user profile?

Yes, but more users are starting to complain about the same issue, it started with 1, where the deletion of the preset worked, but after that, user #2 and #3 today, that didn't work for them, only re-creating the user "computer" profile fixed it, and we all know users don't like to do that because they have to re-create everything that they had in their old profiles.

Hi there,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with Photoshop.

Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop the retouchers are using by going to the Help menu in Photoshop > System info? Also, by the file path you mentioned, I see you are using a Mac. Could you help me with the Mac OS version as well?

If you are using macOS Mojave (10.14.x) you can check if Photoshop is added to the Accessibility list of the macOS. You can navigate to System preferences > Security and Privacy > Select the Privacy tab > Select Accessibility from the list on the left and check if Photoshop is added to the list. If not, please unlock the screen using the lock on the bottom left and then click on the plus icon on the botton of the window to add Photoshop to the list and ensure that the box before Photoshop is checked.

Then restart the computer and check if it helps.

Regards,

Nikunj
