Photoshop Text Engine is Slow

After Photoshop 24.2.1 (March) update, the text engine has been slow. It takes about 30 seconds to load the fonts! I didn't change anything like installing new hardware, font, or app. I realized the font loading has been slow after updating the text engine to "Unified Text Engine". In the March update, it freezes for about 30 seconds (even for the default Myriad font!). I have some RTL (variable) fonts installed (as before), but I didn't have any problem with the "Legacy" text engine.

I'm having the same issue. I hate it. Makes me wanna use my old version.

How many fonts do you have?

Could one or more font(s) be corrupted? You might get an indication of this when Photoshop is opening by seeing if the Splash screen slows when loading the fonts. I think systems are so fast nowadays though, that this could be marginal or just too fast to notice.

What OS are you using? Check out the font issues FAQ for a possible solution.

Besides the Windows 11 native (original) fonts, I have installed about 10-15 LTR (Persian) fonts (most of them are variable). I always use FB (FontBase) to activate some fonts temporarily when I need them. FB had a problem with previous versions (Photoshop), but they have solved it. Photoshop has a problem with loading fonts, even when I don't use FB.
