Hello, I'm working on a graphic text project for class and when I try to type on the new layer, it keeps going back to a previous text layer and I can't figure out what I did to cause this to happen. I already have 3 text layers and didn't have an issue with them, but now this, Please Help 😕😕

If your text layer covers the entire document then yes, I can see that happening. Lock the text layer maybe?

Hi Lumigraphics,

I actually found a way and yes it's because the letter is so big. If I hold down the shift key and then click the test tool, it creates a new layer that I can add more text.  Thank you for responding 🙂

Hi Peru,

I'm Sorry, I got so frustrated yesterday and I uninstalled photoshop and reinstalled it, so I don't have those layers or work that I had done 😞  I have just started on a new document and I have my 1st layer and now it's doing the same thing. I have auto select unchecked when I moved the layer where/how I want it, and clicked back on my text tool and it won't start a new layer, it stays on that layer and switches back to the move tool, even after I have committed to the position etc. Here is the screenshot from my current layer.
