Question

Photoshop Trial

To start when I signed up it was only 7 days instead of 30. I thought ok, I can decide if I can figure out how to work this in 7 days. I had problems from the loading, and had to have tech support and after an hour he fixed it. I was able to do a few things and haven't been able to touch it in a few days. I checked, it hasn't been 7. I was kicked out, it wouldn't let me sign back in. I had to re-set my password. Now as I go in, it's as if I haven't done anything. it offers a free trial or a buy here. I tried chat but they could offer no assistance, gave me a number that's closed now. soooo, they drag it out the last 2 days? The chat rep says they don't have the ability to log the chat or log what it was about.

anybody else have this problem?

I was able to get in and maneuver around some and I received a parsing the jpeg data error, which it says they've been having trouble with since last year. Just an update.

Do you expect to take out a subscription?  No one learns Photoshop in seven days, so the trial period is not a good indicator of whether or not you'll get on with the program.  More than nine million people now have a Creative Cloud subscription, and it would be hard to argue that there is a better image editing program, so it seems to me you either need to sign up and use it, or forget about it.

To proceed from here uninstall Photoshop and run the Cleaner tool:

Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Restart your computer, and if you are using Windows open the CC Application Manager in Admin mode (by right clicking it) and install Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom (if you have subscribed to the $10 month Photography plan).

If your computer spec is OK to run Photoshop, then this should work for you.

    Download and install Photoshop CC

You should consider this very much a minimum spec.  For instance it says 2Gb of RAM as minimum, but I honestly doubt it run very well, if at all with 2Gb RAM.  4Gb is minimum, and 8Gb is where it 'starts' to get comfortable.  I have 32Gb on a five year old system.

As a trial, I would think in 7 days I would be able to get it going correctly on my computer and maybe learn a couple of basic editing features. If it doesn't work for me, I wouldn't purchase it. If it blew my mind, I could buy it immediately.  Would I expect to know how to use it completely? No. There are too many features, but a couple is not unreasonable. Thank you for the super helpful and pleasant advice.

what you can do is buy the Photographic Plan for $10. By logging out and back in that will switch you from 'trial' to full version. Now use the program to decide if you actually need it and if you do not then if you cancel your subscription within 14 days(absolute maximum) then Adobe will refund the payment you made to your credit card. This is part of the Adobe no quibble money back guarantee policy which in effect allows Adobe programs to be tried out for 21 days rather than 7.

Adobe don't seem to have a problem with people doing this. I suppose from their point of view they are closer to closing a sale if they have your credit card number than would be the case with an anonymous trial user. If you do this though I would recommend cancelling after maybe 12 days rather than 14 as sometimes these things take longer than expected.

Not everyone has this problem you should try contacting them again!

What all have you tried? Would you mind sharing the URL and the approximate time you tried the Chat option? Additionally, were you able to click on the Chat button, fill in the issue summary, and then waited for an agent? Or, was the Chat button itself not available?

I was able to click the chat button, tell him the problem, but he said he couldn't help me and was going to send to to a chat support that could. I asked that he send our chat so that they would know what happened. he said they weren't available, gave me a telephone number, and that he couldn't send information or make a note in the computer. I filled out a survey afterwards. I posted this not long after I ended the chat with him.

My husband came in and said he took screen shots of how the tech support did the download orig, so re re did what he did, and was working ok until it just shut down saying it encountered a problem. Does everyone have this many problems with this app? I'm not even 7 days into this. I'm not super tech savvy, but they have beginners videos that don't seem over my head so instillation shouldn't be this big of an issue.

Thank you Bahaar. Yes, it all leads to the section that says they can't help me. (The sales department). At least the other day I was able to get technical assistance to get it downloaded, but it was certainly earlier than it is now.
