Photoshop using 18GB RAM when no files open

Hello 

 

Can anybody explain why photoshop is using 18GB of RAM when nothing is acutally open in photoshop. Thank you

Hi, Photoshop allocates memory according to how many presets are loaded (check your brush panel), and keeps some memory loaded in order keep unfragmented RAM blocks, when you close images.
