Photoshop v.24.1 CR2 issue

I have not had a problem before like this. Trying to open any CR2 file since yesterday, PS freezes. Same if I try opening via Bridge. I get the usual animation pre-opning, then something flashes (far too quickly to read) with the FILE menu, then Photoshop freezes. Only way out is Taks Manager/Force Close. 

 

It isn't a GPU problem (I have tried dsiabled and enabled, both have same result. 

 

I have uninstalled PS & Bridge & reinstalled. No change.

 

The files open as usual in DxO and all other programmes.

 

Help!?

#RESOLVED#

 

I have returned to the latest v of PS and all now working. So yje issue was resolved by the ACR re-set...I didn"t realise these have to be re-set separately from the Prefs re-set.

Are you on windows or mac ? 

Have you tried ressetting preferences settings ?

Hi

Have you tried disabling the GPU in the ACR preferences

Also try resetting your ACR preferences

Hold down Shift + Ctrl while clicking on Camera Raw

You should see this option

    Hi - that seems to have done the trick ! 

    Will let you know, as I have also just rolled back the the previous PS version

    If the case, I don't recall ever changing the ACR prefs, so is there a way in which one can do this without realising? (Keyboard shortcut or other).

    In anycase, thank you for this solution - much appreciated!
