Photoshop v25 and 25.1 Masking Problem

In Photoshop v25 there's an issue I'm having with the masking tool. Once I go into select and mask, photoshop does not update areas I want to mask in or mask out with any of the tools, including refine. I can only see updates when I'm not in select and mask.

Am I missing a new settings option?
