I am a housewife. A pretty darned good artist as well. I am also a felon which makes it difficult to find a job that doesnt break you in a physical sense. I used to use gimp back in the day and was really good at it, but i would like to further myself and be able to provide services as a freelancer. I need direction on where to go. Any advice is muchly appreciated. Edit: Im so happy, thank you all sooooo darn much. I will check out EVERYTHING in your suggestions. Maybe post some practice pics soon. Thanks!!

I don’t want to discourage you from posting here but this Forum might not lean in the direction you are looking for.

The regulars certainly are willing to share their Photoshop knowledge but if you are looking for a structured learning environment that’s not so much what this is about in my experience.

linkedin.com/learning/ has a very decent reputation (and offers a 1 month trial) and I am sure there are many free tutorials available, but those might offer varying expertise levels and sometimes present obsolete Photoshop versions.

Generally what works in older versions should work in newer versions naturally, but recently Photoshop’s 3D features were widely reduced, so older tutorials on those might lead to disappointment.

My personal advice for Photoshop beginners would be these three points:

• Smart Objects

• Smart Objects

• Smart Objects

fyi - this is just a really bad attempt at some sort of link farming, but they screwed up the link.

I think you need to be clearer about what you're seeking from this forum.
