Can anyone please offer me some advice.

Ever since I installed CS5 on my PC many years ago when I bought it, I've been unable to perform any updates. When I try to download the updates they all fail with this message:

When I click on the link "Contact Customer Support for further assistance" at the bottom of the pop up message, I'm taken to this:

Being an older version of Photoshop, I cannot open RAW files from any newish cameras so I desperately need to perform updates.

I'm completely ignorant when it comes to anything technical so I really have no idea what to do. Please help!

    Nancy,

That's what I'm trying to say. The Help>Updates still leaves me hanging with an invalid serial number error when I try to install them. There must be another option and I don't understand why my account page is listing my version as CS5 if it should have been CS5.5 instead? There's something wrong with this picture.

Try installing the latest adobe application manager and then run Help>Updates again.

Legacy CS5 is no longer supported or updated.  I think the last updates were issued in 2010.

The last CS5 Camera Raw update was released in 2011.  See links below.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. It's frustrating to hear that the Photoshop program that has cost me over a £1000 with the updates to newer versions on several occasions, is now obsolete and worthless. I appreciate your help though Nancy.

I wouldn't say CS5 is worthless.  Until you move to a Creative Cloud plan,  you can use Adobe DNG to convert newer camera raw files.
