Hi, yesterday i created a png file in photoshop and after working on it some time i saved it on desktop and turned off my computer. Today when i opened the file photoshop showed a message saying it can't open the file format because it can't decompose it ... (i don't know what that means except that it's broken)

No other image working app will open the file either.

Is there any way to recover it? How did it become damaged?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

It sounds like you made a png file, then worked on it for a while more. When you saved it to the desktop, did you by chance do anything with the file extension? Is the file possibly missing the .png at the end? if it is, edit the name of the file and add it back on there and it just might work again.

Thanks for answering! No, sadly that's not the solution. The file does have the .png extension.

Here is a picture of the properties if it is of any help ?

Is there maybe a way to recover the image in photoshop temp files? (although it was never a .psd file?)

Thanks again!!
