Position without corners obstructing - Maybe Dum Dum question

Hey gang 🙂

I have been using photoshop for a few years now (video editor by trade) and can't find a basic answer to what i am looking for. I'm sure that I must just be using the wrong terms in my search, and I Have definitely searched before I posted this. Like...A LOT. Sorry if this is dumb.

When I select an object, and know that i have properly selected it, I would like to position it without the distraction of seeing the sizing corners (wrong term) -Just temporarily.

Check out my attached lame video for a proper explanation. No snarky replies please. eg. "First of all, if you were a true professional, you would know that blah blah blah etc.". Deal with your anger/insecurity issues on a mental health forum. lol.

Much love from Canada, eh?

In your video, I noticed that the option Show Transform Controls is selected. That will make the transformation bounding box and handles appear any time a layer is selected and the Move tool is selected. Does it help to deselect Show Transform Controls?

If Show Transform Controls is on, the Move tool is selected, and View > Extras is on, that bounding box will be visible even if the layer is not in Edit > Free Transform mode.

The question isn’t silly or dumb, especially in more recent versions of Photoshop where Show Transform Controls is on more than it used to be, like Adobe might have changed a default. Also, in the most current version of Photoshop, Show Transform Controls is now on a menu with other options under the gear icon in the options bar. Also, I like visiting Canada… 🙂

After you go into Transform mode with the Move Tool you can press Ctrl+H to hide the transform controls.

Ctrl+H is View>Extras in the menus.
