Question

Prevent audio track in exported video

I'm exporting animations (frame- or timeline-based) to .mp4 files from Photoshop 22.5.0 on macOS Big Sur on an M1 Mac mini. No matter what settings I pick, there is always a silent audio track. This causes two issues in the iOS app I'm building, which is trying to show these videos:

  1. The silent audio track interrupts other system audio or video playback.
  2. The audio track isn't quite the same duration as the video, so it extends the duration slightly past the last frame. This causes a black flash when the video loops, which is undesirable.

Is there any way to avoid this silent audio track when exporting video from Photoshop? I can strip the track with ffmpeg, but would prefer not to have to.

Easy solution outside of Photoshop, open the clip in Quicktime player and go to Edit/Remove Audio Track and resave.
