Printing lines and dots

Hello all,

I have a new Macbook Air with M2 chip that I am running Photoshop on.  When ever I print it is putting horizontal lines every centmeter or so along with random dark circles.  No problem printing pics that havent gone through Photoshop or Lightroom.  Any thoughts?

To ascertain whether this is an "on printer" issue, I suggest rotating the image by 90 degrees and reprinting, do the fault lines still run in the same direction related to the print heads?

If the faults always run vertical (as the paper comes out) then it;'s probably a head blockage.

If not then here are some things to try:_

On a MAC, here's how to reset printing system:
On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners
Press and hold the Control key as you click in the list at the left, then choose “Reset printing system” from the menu that appears.
After you reset the printing system, the list of printers in Printers & Scanners preferences is empty.
Reinstall the print driver, only from the manufacturer, not Apple.

Also take a look at the following article and check if that helps:

You may like to re-install the printer drivers to check if that makes a difference?

Here is some general Adobe [Mac and Win] info on printing problems,

Simple reset: hold the space bar when you open the print window. It resets the print dialogs

I hope this helps

Hi,

Thank you for the reply and to the others who offered suggestions.  I have tried rotating the image.  The lines are still horizintal as the paper comes out.  I should clarify though.  Images printed from this computer that have not gone through photoshop or lightroom come out perfectly.  So it's not a problem intrinsic to the printer.  When I print to another printer the same lines appear.  That said I will have a go at the suggestions and see what happens.

Hi @Richard28323944oiu7 did you reset your printer dialog box in Photoshop?

Especially if this is an inkjet printer, have you run a nozzle check to make sure there are no clogged ink nozzles?

Hi @Richard28323944oiu7 have you tried resetting your printer queue? Hold the space bar when going to File>Print.

Are you using the same print settings in Photoshop as the other application?
